#50 Diglett

With Diglett, the person making him can either use felt for the eyes with some small amounts of black.  I choose to sew the eyes because I have two daughters under the age of 3 and I did not want to take a chance of them coming off.  This was the smallest Pokemon that I have made.

Diglett was pretty easy to make due to the fact that there are only three pieces to it – the body, nose and the ground the body is sew onto.

MATERIALS:

Worsted Weighted Yarn:  Tan and Gray

Small amount of pink yarn

Crochet Hook F

Fiberfill

Small piece of black felt

Yarn Needle

BODY:

With tan yarn:

Rd 1:         6 sc in magic ring (6)

Rd 2:         2 sc in each sc around (12)

Rd 3:         sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc around (18)

Rd 4:         sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc around (24)

Rd 5-16:    sc in each sc around (24)

F/O leaving a long tail.  Add stuffing needed to finish off shape.  Set aside until ground is done.

#12 Butterfree

Butterfree was not an easy Pokemon to make, especially the wings.  The wings were crocheted following the graph below.  The second wing is made by reversing the pattern for the first wing. 

The antennas are made over a piece of floral wire that is slipped into the top of the body.

WINGS (make 2)

Follow the design below to create the wings for Butterfree.  The wings are the hardest part of the pattern because of the way that they are designed to be made.  The way I designed the wings is not recommended for someone that is a beginner. Once the wings are finished, sew to back of body.  Weave in ends.

ANTENNAS (make 2)

Cut floral wire into 2 8 inch pieces

With black and working over the floral wire,

Row 1:      sl st over floral wire, ch 1, sc 5 times, ch 1, turn (5)

Fold ½ inch of floral wire back,

Row 2:      sc in each sc over the folded end of wire, working over floral wire heading toward other end of wire, sc 30 times over wire.

Pull stitches tight on wire.  Fold up about ¼ inch of wire to keep stitches from coming off of wire.  Attach to top of body.        

EYES (make 2)

With red, ch 6

Rd 1:         sc in second ch from hook and in next 3 ch, 3 sc in last ch, working in remaining loops of ch, sc in next 3 loops, 2 sc in loop of first sc (12)

Rd 2:         sc in next 5 sc, 3 sc in next sc, sc in next 5 sc, 3 sc in last sc (16)

#380 Latias and #381 Latios

Latias and Latios are twin Pokemon.  Latias is Red while Latios is Blue.  They are identical other than the color difference.  So in order to make the twins, replace blue for red anywhere it is mentioned in the pattern.  If anyone would like to know, I combined to patterns that I have to create the body pattern.  The head is the same pattern I used for Ekans’ head and I use a pattern for a football for the body.

Latias and Latios will always be found together.  So it is only national that if you make one, you must make the other.
