AZOKU'S STAFF 2

This is another version of Azuko’s staff using glow in the dark yarn instead of the leaf green area of the CENTER OF HEAD and for the runes on the pole of the staff. The other change from the original is that the lighter green center of the CENTER OF TOP will be a sphere instead of a circle.

MATERIALS:
Worsted Weight Yarn: buff, café latte, white, black, leaf green, and GITS green.
B crochet hook
Polyester Fiberfil
Tapestry needle
Wooden skewer

STAFF:
STAFF HEAD:


CENTER CRYSTAL:
Rd 1: With GITD green, 6 sc in magic ring. (6)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12)
Rds 3-7: sc in each sc around. (12)
STUFF CENTER CRYSTAL FIRMLY.
Rd 8: sc2tog around. (6)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Weave tai through sc of Rd 8, pull tightly and secure. Weave in ends.

CENTER OF TOP (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: Working over sc of Rd 4 or Rd 5 of CENTER CRYSTAL, attach green, ch 1, (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (18)
Rd 2: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (24)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Sew CENTER OF TOP together. Weave in ends.

WOLF BODY WRAP:
Rd 1: With buff, 6 sc in magic ring, slip st in first sc. (6)
Rd 2: Ch 1, turn; (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around, slip st in first sc. (8)
Rds 3-4: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc around, slip st in first sc. (8)
Rd 5: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next 4 sc, sc in next 2 sc, slip st in first sc. (12)
Rds 6-8: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc around, slip st in first sc. (12)
Rd 9: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 2 sc, (sc2tog) 4 times, sc in next 2 sc, slip st in first sc. (8)
Rd 10: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc around, slip st in first sc. (8)
BEGIN STUFFING WOLF BODY WRAP FIRMLY. CONTINUE STUFFING WOLF BODY WRAP FIRMLY AS YOU GO ALONG.
Rd 11: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next 2 sc, sc in next 3 sc, slip st in first sc. (10)
Rd 12: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next 2 sc, sc in next 4 sc, slip st in first sc. (12)
Rd 13: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc around, slip st in first sc. (12)

Rd 36: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 4 sc, (sc2tog) twice, sc in next 4 sc, slip st in first sc. (10)
Rd 37: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 3 sc, (sc2tog) twice, sc in next 3 sc, slip st in first sc. (8)
Rd 38: Ch 1, turn; (sc in next 2 sc, sc2tog) around, slip st in first sc. (6)
Rd 39: Ch 1, turn; (sc in next sc, sc2tog) around, slip st in first sc. (4)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Weave tail through sc of Rd 39, pull tightly and secure. Sew WOLF BODY WRAP to CENTER OF TOP. Weave in ends.

NOSE, MOUTH, EYES, AND EYE MARKINGS:
Using black, embroider the NOSE and MOUTH on WOLF BODY WRAP. Using leaf green, embroider the EYES on WOLF BODY WRAP. Using café latte, embroider the EYE MARKINGS on WOLF BODY WRAP.

BACK OF HEAD SPIKES:
Rw 1: With buff, ch 3, sc in second ch from hook, dc in next ch. (2)
Rws 2-7: Ch 3, sc in second ch from hook, hdc in next ch. (2)
Rw 8: Ch 3, sc in second ch from hook, dc in next ch. (2)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Sew BACK OF HEAD SPIKES to WOLF BODY WRAP. Weave in ends.

LEAF GROUP 1:
Rd 1: With leaf green, ch 5, sc in second ch from hook, sc in next 2 ch, 3 sc in next ch working around ch, working in free loops of foundation ch, sc in next 3 ch. (9)
Rw 2: Ch 4, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across. (3)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Sew LEAF GROUP 1 to first bump of WOLF BODY WRAP. Weave in ends.

LEAF GROUP 2:
Rd 1: With leaf green, ch 5, sc in second ch from hook, sc in next 2 sc, 3 sc in next ch working around ch, working in free loops of foundation ch, sc in next 3 ch. (9)
Rw 2: Ch 3, sc in second ch from hook and in next ch. (2)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Sew LEAF GROUP 2 to second bump of WOLF BODY WRAP. Weave in ends.

LEAF GROUP 3:
Rd 1: With leaf green, ch 3, 2 sc in second ch from hook, 3 sc in next ch working around ch, working in free loops of foundation ch, sc in next ch, slip st in first sc. (6)
Rw 1: Ch 3, sc in second ch from hook and next sc. (2)
Finish off leaving a along tail. Sew LEAF GROUP to third bump of WOLF BODY WRAP. Weave in ends.

LEAF GROUP 4:
Rw 1: With leaf green, ch 2, sc in second ch from hook. (1)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Sew LEAF GROUP 4 to fourth bump of WOLF BODY WRAP. Weave in ends.

LEAF GROUP 5:
Rw 1: With leaf green, ch 3, sc in second ch from hook and in next ch. (2)
Rw 2: Ch 2, sc in second ch from hook. (1)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Sew LEAF GROUP 5 to fifth bump of WOLF BODY WRAP. Weave in ends.

TOOTH:
Rw 1: With white, ch 2, sc in second ch from hook. (1)
Rw 2: Ch 1, turn; sc in next sc. (1) Change to café latte.
Rw 3: Ch 1, turn; sc in next sc. (1)
Rw 4: Ch 1, turn; slip st in next sc, ch 6, slip st in center sc of Rd 24 of WOLF BODY WRAP, ch 75.
Finish off leaving a long tail. Wrap TOOTH rope around and through various places around WOLF BODY WRAP. Weave in ends.

SMALL LEAVES:
Using leaf green, embroider the SMALL LEAVES in various places along the TOOTH rope.

STAFF POLE:
Rd 1: With buff, 6 sc in magic ring, slip st in first sc. (6)
Rd 2: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next 2 sc, sc in next 2 sc, slip st in first sc. (8)
Rd 3: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc around, slip st in first sc. (8)
Rd 4: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next 2 sc, sc in next 3 sc, slip st in first sc. (10)
Rd 5: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc around, slip st in first sc. (10)
Rd 6: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next 2 sc, sc in next 4 sc, slip st in first sc. (12)
Rds 7-8: Ch 1, torn; sc in each sc around, slip st in first sc. (12)
Rd 9: Ch 1, turn; (sc in next sc, sc2tog) around, slip st in first sc. (8)

BEGIN STUFFING STAFF POLE FIRMLY. CONTINUE STUFFING STAFF POLE FIRMLY AS YOU GO ALONG.
Rd 11: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc around, slip st in first sc. (6)
Rd 12: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc around, slip st in first sc changing to taupe. (6)
Rd 13: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc around, slip st in first sc. (6)
Rd 14: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc around, slip st in first sc changing to buff. (6)
Rds 15-35: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc around, slip st in first sc. (6)
Rd 36: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc around, slip st in first sc changing to taupe. (6)
Rd 37: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc around, slip st in first sc. (6)
Rd 38: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc around, slip st in first sc changing to buff. (6)
Rds 39-53: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc around, slip st in first sc. (6)
Rd 54: Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in each sc around, slip st in first sc. (12)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Insert wooden skewer. Sew STAFF POLE to STAFF HEAD. Using GITD green, embroider the markings on STAFF POLE. Weave in ends.

ROPE WRAP 1:
Using café latte, ch 60. Finish off leaving a long tail. Wrap around base of STAFF POLE task stitching in various places to secure. Weave in ends.

ROPE WRAP 2:
Using café latte, ch 30. Finish off leaving a long tail. Wrap around STAFF POLE between first taupe stripe and frosty green markings tack stitching in a few places to secure. Weave in ends.

ROPE WRAP 2 LEAVES:
Using leaf green, embroider a couple of small leaves on ROPE WRAP 2 area.

ROPE WRAP 3 AND HANDLE:
Using café latte, ch 120. Finish off leaving a long tail. Wrap around STAFF POLE between second taupe stripe and STAFF HEAD tack stitching in various places to secure leaving a ch-16 space as the HANDLE. Weave in ends.

ROPE WRAP 3 LEAVES:
Using leaf green, embroider a couple of small leaves on ROPER WRAP area.
