I heard on the radio that someone giving a tip to take a wet hand towel and wrap around the stem of banana with a rubber band to help them from turning brown as fast. I thought I could come up with a crocheted version and sell them. Here is the pattern I came up with. They can be made in any color. I used a country blue because it was a color that I use very little of.
MATERIALS:
Worsted Weight Yarn: Any color
B crochet hook
Yarn Needle
Elastic cord
BANANA STEM MOISTURE HOLDER:
Rd 1: With any color, 6 sc in magic ring. (6)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12)
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (18)
Rd 4: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (24)
Rd 5: (sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (30)
Rd 6: (sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (36)
Rd 7: (sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (42)
Rds 8-9: sc in each sc around. (42)
FORM A 1.25 INCH RING WITH ELASTIC CORD
Rd 10: Working over elastic cord, sc in each sc around. (42)
Finish off. Weave in ends.
