STARY NIGHT BABY BLANKET

This is blanket #4 of 6 that I have been paid to make for expecting mothers in my church. Blanket #4 and #5 are for a set of twins. This set of twins has a boy and a girl in it. I am making a baby blanket with hearts on it for the girl. I wanted to come up with a blanket design that would be appropriate for a boy. This is the design for the blanket.

Before anyone comments on the pattern, yes, the pattern calls for royal blue but the one pictured is only white. The person paying to make the blankets wanted them in only white. I will include a picture of each star motif with the royal blue on them as well.

MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn: White and royal
I crochet hook
Tapestry needle

5 POINT STARS (MAKE 42):
Rd 1: With white, Ch 2, (3dc, ch 3) 5 times, slip st in first dc.
Rd 2: slip st to ch-3 sp, ch 2, (3dc, ch 3, 3 dc, ch 1) in each ch-3, slip st in first dc.
Rd 3: slip st to ch-3 sp, ch 2, [(4dc, ch 3, 4dc) in ch-3 sp, sc in next ch-1 sp] around, slip st in first dc.
Finish off. Weave in ends.
Rd 4: Attach royal in any ch-3 sp, ch 2, (3dc, ch 3, 3dc) in ch-3 sp, ch 2, 3dc in next sc, ch 2, [(3dc, ch 3, 3dc) in next ch-3 sp, ch 2, 3dc in next sc, ch 2] around, slip st in first dc.
Rd 5: slip st to next ch-3 sp, ch 2, (3dc, ch 3, 3dc) in ch-3 sp, ch 1, 3dc in next ch-2 sp, ch 2, 3dc in next ch-2, ch 1, [(3dc, ch 3, 3dc) in next ch-3 sp, ch 1, 3dc in next ch-2, ch 1, 3dc in next ch-2, ch 1] around, slip st in first sc.
Finish off. Weave in ends.

6-POINT STARS (MAKE 12):
Rd 1: With white, Ch 2, (3dc, ch 3) 6 times, slip st in first dc.
Rd 2: slip st to ch-3 sp, ch 2, (3dc, ch 3, 3 dc, ch 1) in each ch-3, slip st in first dc.
Rd 3: slip st to ch-3 sp, ch 2, [(4dc, ch 4, 4dc) in ch-3 sp, sc in next ch-1 sp] around, slip st in first dc.
Finish off. Weave in ends.
Rd 4: Attach royal in any ch-3 sp, ch 2, (3dc, ch 3, 3dc) in ch-3 sp, ch 2, 3dc in next sc, ch 2, [(3dc, ch 3, 3dc) in next ch-3 sp, ch 2, 3dc in next sc, ch 2] around, slip st in first dc.
Rd 5: slip st to next ch-3 sp, ch 2, (3dc, ch 3, 3dc) in ch-3 sp, ch 1, 3dc in next ch-2 sp, ch 2, 3dc in next ch-2, ch 1, [(3dc, ch 3, 3dc) in next ch-3 sp, ch 1, 3dc in next ch-2, ch 1, 3dc in next ch-2, ch 1] around, slip st in first sc.
Finish off. Weave in ends.

ASSEMBLY:
Sew star motifs together using picture above as a reference for position of each motif. Weave in ends.
