SLOWPOKE

This is a pattern for Slowpoke from the extremely popular Pokemon game. I have been putting Slowpoke and his big brother Slowbro off for some time even though they have both been on a VERY long “To Do” list that my daughter gave me about two Christmas’ ago. I recently had a request for both from a customer on Etsy. This pattern includes the color lists for both Slowpoke and Shiny Slowpoke.

MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn (Shiny alternative in parenthesis): perfect pink (baby pink), cream, white, and black.
B crochet hook
Polyester Fiberfil
Tapestry needle
8 mm safety eyes

BODY:
Rd 1: With perfect pink, 6 sc in magic ring. (6)
Rd 2: sc in each sc around. (12)
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (18)
Rd 4: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (24)
Rd 5: (sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (30)
Rd 6: (sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (36)
Rds 7-12: sc in each sc around. (36)
Rd 13: (sc in next 4 sc, sc2tog) around. (30)
Rd 14: (sc in next 3 sc, sc2tog) around. (24)
Rd 15: (sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (30)
Rd 16: sc in each sc around. (30)
Rd 17: (sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (36)

Finish off. Weave in ends. Stuff BODY firmly.

MUZZLE:
Rd 1: With cream, ch 5, sc in second ch from hook, sc in next 2 ch, 3 sc in next ch working around ch, working in free loops of foundation ch, sc in next 2 ch, 2 sc in next ch. (10)
Rd 2: 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next 2 sc, sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc. (14)
Rd 3: 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next 2 sc, sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc. (18)
Rd 4: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (24)
Rd 5: sc in each sc around. (24)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Sew MUZZLE to BODY stuffing before closing. Weave in ends. Using black, embroider nostrils and mouth on MUZZLE.

EYES (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With white, ch 2, 4 sc in second ch from hook working around ch. (4)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (8)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Insert safety eyes. Sew EYES to BODY. Weave in ends.

EARS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With perfect pink, 6 sc in magic ring. (6)
Rds 2-12: sc in each sc around. (6)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Roll EARS up and sew together. Sew EARS to BODY. Weave in ends.

LEGS (MAKE 4):
Rd 1: With perfect pink, 6 sc in magic ring. (6)
Rd 2: Working in back loops only, sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, change to white, 3-dc popcorn st in next sc, change to perfect pink, sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc. (8)
Rd 3: (sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (10)
Rds 4-9: sc in each sc around. (10)
Rd 10: (sc in next 3 sc, sc2tog) around. (8)
STUFF LEGS FIRMLY.
Rd 11: (sc in next 2 sc, sc2tog) around. (6)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Weave tail through sc of Rd 11, pull tightly and secure. Sew LEGS to BODY. Weave in ends.

TAIL:
Rd 1: With white, 6 sc in magic ring. (6)
Rd 2: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (9)
Rds 3-7: sc in each sc around. (9) Change to perfect pink after Rd 7.
Rd 8: sc in each sc around. (9)
Rd 9: slip st in next 2 sc, sc in next 5 sc, slip st in next 2 sc. (9)
Rd 10: sc in each st around. (9)
Rd 11: slip st in next 2 sc, sc in next 5 sc, slip st in next 2 sc. (9)
