GIRATINA (ALTERED FORME)

Giratina Altered Forme, along with Giratina Origin Forme, has been my “To Do” for a long time. At first, I thought that Giratina Altered Forme was going to be difficult to make. Once I finally sat down, he was not as difficult as I originally thought. I have included the color lists for both Giratina Altered Forme and Shiny Giratina Altered Forme.

MATERIALS:
Worsted Weight Yarn (Shiny alternative in parenthesis): Gray (Buff), gold (gray), charcoal, black, and red (aqua).
B Crochet Hook
Polyester Fiberfil
Tapestry needle
Floral wire

BODY:
Rd 1: With gray, ch 2, 4 sc in second ch from hook working around ch. (4)
Rd 2: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (6)
Rds 3-5: sc in each sc around. (6)

EAR DOMES (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With gold, 6 sc in magic ring. (6)
Rd 2: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (9)
Rd 3: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (12)
Rd 4: (sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (15)
Rd 5: (sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (18)
Rds 6-7: sc in each sc around. (18)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Stuff EAR DOMES firmly. Sew EAR DOMES to HEAD. Weave in ends.

CRESCENT HORNS:
Rw 1: With gold, ch 18, slip st in second ch from hook, sc in next ch, (sc, hdc) in next ch, 2 dc in next ch, hdc in next 2 ch, sc in next 3 ch, ch 2, sc in second ch from hook, slip st in sc done before ch-2, sc in next 3 ch, hdc in next 2 ch, 2 dc in next ch, (hdc, sc) in next ch, sc in next ch, slip st in next ch. 6
Finish off leaving a long tail. Sew CRESCENT HORNS to HEAD. Weave in ends.

CHEEK SPIKES (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With gold, ch 2, 4 sc in second ch from hook working around ch. (4)
Rd 2: sc in each sc around. (4)
Rd 3: sc in next sc, 2 sc in next 2 sc, sc in next sc. (6)
Rds 4-5: sc in each sc around. (6)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Stuff CHEEK SPIKES firmly. Sew CHEEK SPIKES to EAR DOMES. Weave in ends.

EYES:
Using black and red, embroider EYE on HEAD.

NECK BUMPS (MAKE 6):
Rd 1: With gold, ch 2, 4 sc in second ch from hook working around ch. (4)
Rd 2: sc in each sc around. (4)
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (6)
Rd 4: sc in each sc around. (6)
Rd 5: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (8)
Rds 6-7: sc in each sc around. (8)
Rd 8: (sc in next 2 sc, sc2tog) around. (6)
Rd 9: sc in each sc around. (6)

STUFF NECK BUMPS LIGHTLY.

SMALL TOES (MAKE 12):

Finish off. Weave in ends.

LARGE TOES (MAKE 6):
Rd 1: With gold, ch 2, 4 sc in second ch from hook working around ch. (4)
Rd 2: sc in each sc around. (4)
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (6)
Rd 4: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) twice, ch 3, sc in second ch from hook, sc in next ch (TOP POINT), slip st in next sc.

LEGS (MAKE 4):
Rd 1: With gray, 8 sc in magic ring. (8)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (16)
Rd 3: Working in back loops only, sc in next 4 sc, holding next sc on LEGS and first sc on SMALL TOES together and working through both thicknesses, sc in next 2 sc, holding next sc on LEGS and sc #6 on LARGE TOES together and working through both thicknesses, sc in next 4 sc, holding next sc on LEGS and first sc on SMALL TOES together and working through both thicknesses, sc in next 2 sc, sc in next 4 sc on LEGS.
Rd 4: sc in next 4 sc, sc in next 2 sc on SMALL TOES, sc in next 4 sc on LARGE TOES working behind top point, sc in next 2 sc on SMALL TOES, sc in next 4 sc on LEGS. (16)

Finish off leaving a long tail. Sew 2 LEG BUMPS to each LEG. Weave in ends.

LEG WRAPS (MAKE 3):
With charcoal, ch 30, around LEG and slip st in first ch, ch 7, sc in second ch from hook, hdc in next ch, dc in next ch, ch 11, sc in second ch from hook, hdc in next ch, dc in next ch, ch 34, wrap around LEG, slip st in fourth ch from dc. Finish off leaving a long tail. Tack stitch in a few places around LEGS. Weave in ends.

WING SPIKES (MAKE 6):
Rd 1: With red, ch 2, 4 sc in second ch from hook working around ch. (4)
Rds 2-3: sc in each sc around. (4)
Rd 4: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (6)
Rds 5-6: sc in each sc around. (6)
Finish off. Weave in ends. Stuff WING SPIKES firmly. Weave in ends.

  1. I am in love with this pattern! I'm current using a thicker yarn and larger hook to create a bigger version and it's so fun!
    May I ask why the finished product can't be sold?
    Again, this pattern is awesome! Super easy to follow as well 🖤 I'm trying to work through all of the ones you've made slowly but surely!

  2. Im having difficulty with the "shape body" section.
    In round 50 of the body it ends with 42 sc, but in the first round (51) after shape the body it says 32 sc when in the explanation 34 sc are used with two decreases ending at the mentioned 32 sc. But what happens to the other 10 sc that make up the 42?
