SHIGUMI THE NUZLEAF

This is an adaptation of my pattern for Nuzleaf. Shigumi the Nuzleaf is a custom item based on a drawing that a customer sent me. The only addition to my Nuzleaf pattern is the cape and necklace. E crochet is used for everything except the medallion for the necklace.

MATERIALS:
Worsted Weight Yarn (Shiny colors are in parenthesis): Café latte, buff, white, black, green, royal, yellow, and red.
B and E crochet hook
Polyester Fiberfil
Tapestry needle
Green chenille stem

FEET (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With café latte, 8 sc in magic ring. (8)
Rd 2: sc in next sc, 2 sc in next 2 sc, sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next 2 sc, sc in next sc. (12)
Rd 3: sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next 2 sc, sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next 2 sc, sc in next 2 sc. (16)
Rds 4-12: sc in each sc around. (16)
Rd 13: (sc in next 6 sc, sc2tog) around. (14)
Rd 14: (sc in next 5 sc, sc2tog) around. (12)
STUFF FEET LIGHTLY.
Rd 15: sc2tog around. (6)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Weave tail through sc of Rd 15, pull tightly and secure. Weave in ends.

LEGS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With café latte, 8 sc in magic ring. (8)
Rds 2-5: sc in each sc around. (8) Change to buff after Rd 5.
Rd 6: 2 sc in each sc around. (16)
Rd 7: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (24)
Rd 8: (sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (28)
Rds 9-12: sc in each sc around. (28)
RIGHT LEG:
Rd 13: sc in next 6 sc, (sc in next sc, sc2tog) 4 times, sc in next 10 sc. (24)
Rd 14: sc in next 4 sc, (sc in next sc, sc2tog) 4 times, sc in next 8 sc. (20)
Rd 15: sc in next 2 sc, (sc in next sc, sc2tog) 4 times, sc in next 6 sc. (16)
Finish off. Weave in ends. Stuff RIGHT LEG firmly. Using black, embroider lines on RIGHT LEG.
LEFT LEG:
Rd 13: (sc in next sc, sc2tog) twice, sc in next 16 sc, (sc in next sc, sc2tog) twice. (24)
Rd 14: (sc in next sc, sc2tog) twice, sc in next 12 sc, (sc in next sc, sc2tog) twice. (20)
Rd 15: (sc in next sc, sc2tog) twice, sc in next 8 sc, (sc in next sc, sc2tog) twice. (16)
Finish off. Weave in ends. Stuff LEFT LEG firmly. Using black, embroider lines on LEFT LEG. Sew LEGS to FEET.

ARMS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With café latte, 8 sc in magic ring. (8)
Rd 2: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (12)
Rd 3: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (16)
Rds 4-5: sc in each sc around. (16)
d 6: 3 sc in next 2 sc, sc in next 14 sc. (20)
Rd 7: sc in each sc around. (20)
Rd 8: (sc3tog) twice, sc in next 14 sc. (16)
Rd 9: (sc in next 2 sc, sc2tog) around. (12)

BEGIN STUFFING ARMS FIRMLY. CONTINUE STUFFING ARMS FIRMLY AS YOU GO ALONG.

BODY:
Rd 1: Holding sc #15 on RIGHT LEG and sc #11 on LEFT LEG together and working through both thicknesses, attach café latte, ch 1, sc in same sc as attachment, sc in next 4 sc, sc in next 12 sc on RIGHT LEG, sc in next 12 sc on LEFT LEG. (24)

Rd 5: sc in each sc around. (8)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Sew NOSE to FACEMASK stuffing before firmly before closing. Weave in ends.

EYES, MOUTH AND FOREHEAD LINES:

Embroider EYES, MOUTH and FOREHEAD LINES on NUZLEAF.

HEAD LEAF:
Rd 1: With green, ch 16, sc in second ch from hook, sc in next 13 ch, (sc, ch 3, sc) in next ch working around ch, working in free loops of foundation ch, sc in next 10 ch, slip st in first sc. (22)
Rd 2: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 2 sc, dc in next 2 sc, tr in next 3 sc, dc in next 2 sc, sc in next 2 sc, (sc, ch 4, sc) in next ch-3 sp, sc in next 2 sc, dc in next 2 sc, tr in next 3 sc, dc in next 2 sc, sc in next 2 sc, slip st in next sc.
Finish off leaving a long tail. Sew HEAD LEAF to HEAD. Weave in ends.

CAPE:
Rw 1: With royal, ch 29, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across. (28)
Rw 2: Ch 2, turn; dc in next 14 sc, leaving remaining sc unworked. (14)
Rws 3-12: Ch 2, turn; 2 dc in next dc, dc in next 12 dc, 2 dc in next dc. (34 in Rw 12)
Rw 13: Ch 2, turn; dc in each dc across. (34)
Rw 14: Ch 2, turn; 2 dc in next dc, dc in next 14 dc, 2 dc in next dc. (36)
Rw 15: Ch 2, turn; dc in each dc across. (36)

Rd 1: With red and B crochet hook, ch 3, 2 sc in second ch from hook, 3 sc in next ch working around ch, working in free loops of foundation ch, sc in next ch, slip st in first sc changing to royal. (6)
Rd 2: Ch 1, (3 sc in next sc, 2 sc in next 2 sc) around, slip st in first sc changing to yellow. (14)
Rd 3: Ch 1, 2 sc in next sc, slip st in next sc, 2 sc in next sc, skip next sc, 2 sc between next 2 sc, skip next sc, slip st in next sc, 2 sc in next sc, slip st in next sc, 2 sc in next sc, skip next sc, 2 sc between next 2 sc, skip next sc, slip st in next sc.
Finish off. Weave in ends. Attach piece of black to top of MEDALLION. Wrap around neck and tie together.
