JEEP

This is a small Jeep that was requested by a co-worker.  She had seen one on Pinterest and asked I could come up with one.  Of course, I said yes.  This is the pattern that I came up with.  Of course, the Jeep can be made in any color.  Delft blue was what my co-worker requested.

MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn: Delft blue, black, white, and gray.
E crochet hook
Polyester Fiberfil
Tapestry needle
5 black buttons

FRONT:
Rw 1: With delft blue, ch 13, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across.  (12)
Rws 2-6: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (12)
Rw 7: Ch 1, turn; sc2tog, sc in next 8 sc, sc2tog.  (10)
Finish off.

HEADLIGHTS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With white, ch 2, 4 sc in second ch from hook working around ch.  (4)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew HEADLIGHTS to FRONT.  Using white, embroider grill on FRONT.

HOOD:
Rw 1: Working in side of Rws of FRONT, attach delft blue in first Rw, ch 1, sc in same Rw as attachment, sc in next 6 Rws, sc in next 10 sc of Rw of FRONT, sc in side of next 7 Rws.  (24)
Rws 2-10: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (24)
DRIVER’S SIDE:
Rw 1: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 7 sc, leaving remaining sc unworked.  (7)
Rws 2-14: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (7)
Finish off leaving a long tail.
PASSENGER’S SIDE:
Rw 1: Skip next 10 sc of HOOD, attach delft blue in next sc, ch 1, sc in same sc as attachment, sc in next 6 sc.  (7)
Rws 2-14: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (7)
Finish off leaving a long tail.

BACK:
Rw 1: With delft blue, ch 13, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across.  (12)
Rws 2-7: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (12)
Finish off.  Weave in ends.

CAB SIDES:
Rd 1: Attach black in first sc of BACK, ch 1, sc in same sc as attachment, sc in next 11 sc, working in side of Rws of DRIVER’S SIDE, sc in next 7 Rws, change to delft blue, sc in next 7 Rws, working in sc of HOOD, sc in next 10 sc, working in side of Rws of PASSENGER’S SIDE, sc in next 7 Rws, change to black, sc in next 7 Rws, slip st in first sc.  (50)

TOP:
Rw 1: With black, ch 13, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across.  (12)
Rws 2-12: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (12)
Rw 13: Ch 1, turn; sc2tog, sc in next 8 sc, sc2tog.  (10)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew TOP to CAB SIDES.  Weave in ends.

TIRES (MAKE 5):
Rd 1: With black, 6 sc in magic ring.  (6)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around.  (12)
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (18)
Rd 4: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (24)
Rd 5: Working in back loops only, sc in each sc around.  (24)
Rds 6-7: sc in each sc around.  (24)
Rd 8: Working in back loops only, (sc in next 2 sc, sc2tog) around.  (18)
Rd 9: (sc in next sc, sc2tog) around.  (12)
STUFF TIRES FIRMLY.
Rd 10: sc2tog around.  (6)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Weave tail through sc of Rd 10, pull tightly and secure.  Attach 1 TIRE on back of JEEP using black button as a hubcap.

BOTTOM:
Rw 1: With black, ch 13, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across.  (12)
Rws 2-24: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (12)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew BOTTOM to JEEP stuffing before closing.  Attach TIRES using black buttons as hubcaps.

FENDERS (MAKE 4):
Rw 1: With black, ch 11, slip st in second ch from hook, sc in next ch, hdc in next 6 ch, sc in next ch, slip st in next ch.  (10)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew FENDERS to JEEP.

BUMPERS (MAKE 2):
Rw 1: With black, ch 13, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across.  (12)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew BUMPER to FRONT and BACK of JEEP

SIDE MIRRORS (MAKE 2):
Rw 1: With black, ch 3, sc in second ch from hook and in next ch.  (2)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew SIDE MIRRORS to JEEP.

  1. I'm excited to find this pattern! I think I can make a Jeep Liberty based on this .. quick question .. when you say something like "sc in side of next .." that is still using both posts, but is attaching to the side of a piece instead of top or bottom, right? (all stitches use both posts)
