SMALL SOCCER BALL

This is a very simple pattern for a soccer ball.  The soccer ball picture was filled with polyester fiberfill.  But, it can also be made by putting a tennis ball inside of it.  The soccer ball is made in pieces that are sewn together.

MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn: white and black
F crochet hook
Tennis ball or Polyester Fiberfill
Tapestry needle

PENTAGON (MAKE 12):
Rd 1: With black, 5 sc in magic ring, slip st in first sc.  (5)
Rd 2: Ch 1, (sc, hdc, sc) in each sc around, slip st in first sc.  (15)
Finish off.  Weave in ends.

HEXAGON (MAKE 20):
Rd 1: With white, 6 sc in magic ring, slip st in first sc.  (6)
Rd 2: Ch 1, (sc, hdc, sc) in each sc around, slip st in first sc.  (18)
Finish off.  Weave in ends.

ASSEMBLY:

Using the graph above as a guide, sew the hexagons and pentagons together.  Stuff soccer ball firmly before closing
