LITTLE RORSCHACH
This is rendering of the famed Rorschach character from DC Comics Watchmen comic and movies. It is the continuing series of dolls depicting popular comics book characters. I starting on comics characters as a respond that I was making characters that were for girls.
MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn: White, warm brown, café latte, and black.
D crochet hook
Polyester fiberfill
Tapestry needle
DOLL:
BODY:
Rd 1: With white, ch 2, 5 sc in second ch from hook working around ch. (5)
Rd 2: 2 sc in next 2 sc, sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc. (9)
Rd 3: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (12)
Rd 4: (sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (15)
Rd 5: sc in next sc, change to black, sc in next 5 sc, change to white, sc in next 9 sc. (15)
Rds 6-7: sc in next 3 sc, change to black, sc in next sc, change to white, sc in next 11 sc. (15)
Rd 8: sc in next sc, change to black, sc in next sc, change to white, sc in ext 3 sc, change to black, sc in next sc, change to white, sc in next 9 sc. (15)
Rd 9: sc2tog, change to black, sc2tog, sc in next sc, change to white, (sc2tog) 5 times. (8)
Rds 10-11: sc in each sc around. (8)
Rd 12: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (12)
Rd 13: 2 sc in next 5 sc, sc in next 7 sc. (17)
Rd 14: sc in each sc around. (17)
Rd 15: (sc2tog) 5 times, sc in next 7 sc. (12)
Rds 16-18: sc in each sc around. (12) Change to café latte after Rd 18.
Rds 19-20: sc in each sc around. (12)
BEGIN STUFFING RORSCHACH DOLL AT THIS POINT AND CONTINUE TO STUFF AS YOU GO.
RIGHT LEG:
Rd 21: sc in next 3 sc, skip next 6 sc, sc in next 3 sc. (6)
Rd 22-28: sc in each sc around. (6) Change to black after Rd 28.
Rd 29: sc2tog, sc in next 4 sc. (5) Change to warm brown.
Rd 30: sc in next sc, 2 sc in next 2 sc, sc in next 2 sc. (7)
Rd 31: sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next 2 sc, sc in next 3 sc. (9)
Rd 32: sc in each sc around. (9)
Rd 33: Working in back loops only, (sc in next sc, sc2tog) around. (6)
Finish off leaving a long tail to close opening. Whip stitch the opening closed. Weave in ends.
LEFT LEG:
Rd 21: Attach café latte in first skipped sc with slip st, ch 1, sc in same sc as slip st, sc in next 5 sc. (6)
Rds 22-33: Same as RIGHT LEG.
ARMS (MAKE 2):
STUFF ARMS AS YOU GO.
Rd 1: With café latte, ch 2, 5 sc in second ch from hook working around ch. (5)
Rds 2-3: sc in each sc around. (5) Change to white.
Rds 4-9: sc in each sc around. (5)
Rd 10: sc2tog, sc in next 3 sc. (4)
Finish off leaving a long tail to sew ARMS to BODY. Sew ARMS to BODY.
JACKET:
Rw 1: With warm brown, ch 21, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across. (20)
Rws 2-10: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across. (20)
Rw 11: Ch 1, turn; sc2tog, sc in next 16 sc, sc2tog. (18)
Rw 12: Ch 1, turn; sc2tog,sc in next 2 sc, ch 3, skip next 2, sc in next 6 sc, ch 3, skip next 2 s, sc in next 2 sc, sc2tog. (12, 2 ch-3 spaces)
Rw 13; Ch 1, turn; sc2tog, sc in next sc, sc in next 3 ch, sc in next 6 sc, sc in next 3 ch, sc in next sc, sc2tog. (16)
Finish off. Weae in ends.
COLLAR:
Rw 1: Starting at Row 8 with RIGHT SIDE facing, attach warm brown, ch 1, slip st in next row, sc in next row, hdc in next 3 rows, slip st down last hdc to base, slip st in next row, ch 2, hc in each sc across top of JACKET, slip st down last hdc to base, slip st in next row, ch 2, hdc in next 2 rows, sc in next row, slip st in next row. Finish off. Weave in ends.
JACKET SLEEVES:
Rw 1: Working first skipped sc of Rw 5, attach warm brown with sc, sc in side of Rw 6, sc in each free of ch-3 space, sc in side of Rw 6: sc in second skipped sc of Rd 5. (7)
Rws 2-8: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across. (7)
Finish off leaving a long tail to sew seam closed. Repeat in second armhole. Place JACKET on JOKER doll. Sew SLEEVE seams closed.
BELT:
With warm brown, ch 40. Finish off. Wrap around waist and knot.
HAT:
Rd 1: With café latte, ch 2, 5 sc in second ch from hook working around ch. (5)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (10)
Rd 3: Working in back loops only, sc in each sc around. (10)
Rd 4: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (15)
Rd 5: sc in each sc around. (15)
Rd 6: Working in front loops only, 2 sc in each sc around, slip st in next sc.
Finish off. Weave in ends. Attach to top of head.
