LITTLE REPO MAN
This is rendering of the Repo Man from the Repo! The Genetic Opera written and directed by Terrance Zdunich and produced by Twisted Pictures. This is one of my wife’s favorite characters. It is the continuing series of dolls depicting popular comics book characters. I starting on comics characters as a respond that I was making characters that were for girls.
MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn: Black.
D and 6 crochet hook
Silver and blue embroidery floss
Polyester fiberfill
Tapestry needle
DOLL:
BODY:
Rd 1: With black, ch 2, 5 sc in second ch from hook working around ch. (5)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (10)
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (15)
Rd 4: Working in back loops only, sc in each sc around. (15)
Rds 5-9: sc in each sc around. (15)
Rd 10: (sc2tog) 7 times, sc in next sc. (8)
Rds 11-12: sc in each sc around. (8)
Rd 13: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (12)
Rd 14: 2 sc in next 5 sc, sc in next 7 sc. (17)
Rd 15: sc in each sc around. (17)
Rd 16: (sc2tog) 5 times, sc in next 7 sc. (12)
Rds 17-21: sc in each sc around. (12)
BEGIN STUFFING REPO MAN DOLL AT THIS POINT AND CONTINUE TO STUFF AS YOU GO.
RIGHT LEG:
Rd 22: sc in next 3 sc, skip next 6 sc, sc in next 3 sc. (6)
Rd 23-29: sc in each sc around. (6)
Rd 30: sc2tog, sc in next 4 sc. (5)
Rd 31: sc in next sc, 2 sc in next 2 sc, sc in next 2 sc. (7)
Rd 32: sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next 2 sc, sc in next 3 sc. (9)
Rd 33: sc in each sc around. (9)
Rd 34: Working in back loops only, (sc in next sc, sc2tog) around. (6)
Finish off leaving a long tail to close opening. Whip stitch the opening closed. Weave in ends.
LEFT LEG:
Rd 22: Attach black in first skipped sc with slip st, ch 1, sc in same sc as slip st, sc in next 5 sc. (6)
Rds 23-34: Same as RIGHT LEG.
ARMS (MAKE 2):
STUFF ARMS AS YOU GO.
Rd 1: With black, ch 2, 5 sc in second ch from hook working around ch. (5)
Rds 2-9: sc in each sc around. (5)
Rd 10: sc2tog, sc in next 3 sc. (4)
Finish off leaving a long tail to sew ARMS to BODY. Sew ARMS to BODY.
OUTFIT TOP:
Rw 1: With black, ch 15, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across. (14)
Rw 2: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 4 sc, (2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc) twice, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 5 sc. (17)
Rw 3; Ch 1, turn; sc in next 7 sc, (2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc) twice, sc in next 4 sc. (19)
Rw 4: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across. (19)
Rw 5: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 2 sc, ch 3, skip next 2 sc, (sc2tog) 5 times, ch 3, skip next 2 sc, sc in next 3 sc. (10, 2 ch-3 spaces)
Rws 6-7: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc and ch across. (16)
Rw 8: Ch 1, turn; (sc in next 2 sc, sc2tog) around. (12)
Finish off leaving a long tail to sew back seam closed.
OUTFIT BOTTOM:
Rd 1: Working n free loops of foundation ch, attach black, ch 1, (sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc) twice, sc in next 4 sc, join with slip st in first sc. (16)
Rd 2: Ch 1, turn; (sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc) twice, sc in next 4 sc, join. (18)
Rds 3-8: Ch 3 (Counts as first dc here and throughout), dc in each st around, join. (18)
Rd 9: Ch 3, dc in next 4 dc, (2 dc in next dc, dc in next dc) 3 times, join. (21)
Finish off. Weave in ends.
JACKET SLEEVES:
Rw 1: Working first skipped sc of Rw 5, attach lavender with sc, sc in side of Rw 6, sc in each free of ch-3 space, sc in side of Rw 6: sc in second skipped sc of Rd 5. (7)
Rws 2-7: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across. (7)
Finish off leaving a long tail to sew seam closed. Repeat in second armhole. Place OUTFIT on REPO MAN doll. Sew SLEEVE seams closed.
Place OUTFIT on REPO MAN doll, sew back and sleeve seams closed.
SLVER SCOPE:
Rd 1: With silver embroidery floss and Size 6 crochet hook, 9 sc in magic ring. (9)
Finish off leaving a long ail to sew SILVER SCOPE to head of REPO MAN doll.
Use embroidery floss to embroider eyes on doll.
