CRANKY OR GRANDPA KONG

This is another request from a customer’s son through my Crochet Fanatic Shopify Shop. He has requested several characters from various video games. This is his first adventure in the realm of Donkey Kong.

Cranky Kong (also known as DK Senior, Donkey Kong I, or Donkey Kong the First) is Donkey Kong's crabby, rambling grandfather, the original Donkey Kong in the 1981 arcade game, the widower of Wrinkly Kong and father of Donkey Kong Junior. Cranky has made numerous appearances throughout the Donkey Kong series. He usually acts as a guide in the games to help his grandson Donkey Kong or the other Kongs along their journey as he has had some enlightening experiences.

In the original Donkey Kong Country trilogy and other appearances, he is heavily implied to be the violent, bad tempered, and clumsy original Donkey Kong an escaped circus animal from Big Ape City in the classic Donkey Kong arcade game, making him the main adversary of Mario (Jumpman) and Stanley the Bugman in those games. Cranky considers them to be archenemies in the same way present DK considers K. Rool his archenemy.

As part of the first generation in the DK Lineage, he now goes by his nickname Cranky after becoming old and retired. While he is proud and loving towards his loyal son, he often looks down on his grandson and breaks the fourth wall by saying that Donkey Kong will never be as great a character as he was during his prime and that his DK knows nothing about the 8-bit gaming days. Cranky is also speculated to be Funky Kong's grandfather.

The pattern for Funky Kong is coming soon.

OWL

This is next on a list of Disney’s Winnie the Pooh and Friends characters that were requested by a coworker. I have finished Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, Eeyore, Christopher Robin, and Rabbit from the list. The patterns for Kanga and Roo are coming soon.

Owl is an anthropomorphic owl from the Winnie the Pooh franchise that first appeared in Disney's animated short Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree. Owl's character is based on the stereotype of the "wise old owl", though his "wisdom" is sometimes questionable.

ROUGE THE BAT

Rouge the Bat is another request from my friend in Georgia. Rouge the Bat is one of a long list of characters from various video games that he has recently ordered from me. He has requested that I add a purse to her that matches her outfit.

Rouge the Bat (ルージュ・ザ・バット Rūju za Batto?) is a character that appears in the anime series Sonic X and its comic series published by Archie Comics. She is an anthropomorphic bat as well as a renowned jewel thief who worked as a government agent on Earth.

RABBIT

Rabbit is the next Disney’s Winnie the Pooh and Friends character that has been requested by a coworker. So far, I have done, Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, Eeyore, and Christopher Robin. Still to come is the patterns for Owl, Kanga, and Roo.

Rabbit is an anthropomorphic rabbit who first appeared in Disney's 1966 animated short Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree. An avid gardener residing in the Hundred Acre Wood, Rabbit is fussy, compulsive, and chooses to strictly live life "by-the-book".
