CHERRIES
This was something that my daughter pointed out that was missing from the fruit assortment that I had made for her. So, I decided to fix that mistake. Here is the pattern for the cherries that I came up with.
MATERIALS:
Size 10 crochet cotton: red and green
Size 6 crochet hook
Polyester Fiberfill
Tapestry needle
CHERRIES (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With red, 6 sc in magic ring. (6)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12)
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (18)
Rd 4: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (24)
Rds 5-10: sc in each sc around. (24)
Rd 11: (sc in next 2 sc, sc2tog) around. (18)
Rd 12: (sc in next sc, sc2tog) around. (12)
STUFF CHERRIES FIRMLY.
Rd 13: (sc in next sc, sc2tog) around. (8)
Rd 14: sc2tog around. (4)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Weave tail through sc of Rd 14, pull tightly and secure. Weave tail through center of CHERRY and pull to create dip in the top of the CHERRY and secure. Weave in ends.
LEAF:
Rd 1: With green, ch 7, hdc in second ch from hook, dc in next ch, tr in next ch, dc in next 2 ch, (hdc, sc, ch 2, slip st in second ch from hook, sc, hdc) in next ch working around ch, working in free loops of foundation ch, dc in next 2 ch, tr in next ch, dc in next ch, (hdc, sc) in next ch, slip st in first hdc. (15)
STEM:
Rw 1: Slip st in middle of the dip in CHERRY 1, ch 10, slip st in last sc made on LEAF, ch 3, slip st again in last sc made on LEAF, ch 10, slip st in middle of the dip in CHERRY 2, working in ch 10 before slip st in CHERRY, slip st in next 10 ch, working in ch 10 before slip st in LEAF, slip st in next 10 ch, slip st in middle of the dip in CHERY 1.
Finish off. Weave in ends.
