UNICORN
This is an adaptation of my pattern for Unicorn Ballerina but without the star on the horn and the tutu. This Unicorn has a rainbow main and tail. The main is created by fringing on 2 rows of 3 sets of a double strand of each color down the back of the head and neck. The tail is created by doing 2 rows of 3 sets of a double strand of 3 colors in each row. The first row is red, orange and yellow. The second row is green, blue and purple.
MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn: White, black, gold, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple.
E crochet hook
Polyester Fiberfil
Tapestry needle
15 mm safety eyes
HEAD:
Rd 1: With white, 6 sc in magic ring. (6)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12)
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (18)
Rd 4: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (24)
Rd 5: (sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (30)
Rd 6: (sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (36)
Rds 7-12: sc in each sc around. (36)
Rd 13: (sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (42)
Rd 14: (sc in next 6 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (48)
Rds 15-18: sc in each sc around. (48)
ATTACH SAFETY EYES BETWEEN RDS 12 AND 13 WITH 7 SC BETWEEN EACH EYE.
Rd 19: (sc in next 6 sc, sc2tog) around. (42)
Rd 20: (sc in next 5 sc, sc2tog) around. (36)
Rd 21: (sc in next 4 sc, sc2tog) around. (30)
Rd 22: (sc in next 3 sc, sc2tog) around. (24)
Rd 23: (sc in next 2 sc, sc2tog) around. (18)
Rd 24 (sc in next sc, sc2tog) around. (12)
STUFF HEAD FIRMLY.
Rd 25: sc2tog around. (6)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Weave tail through sc of Rd 25, pull rightly and secure. Weave in ends. Using black, embroider eyelashes and nostrils on UNICORN BALLERINA.
HORN:
Rd 1: With gold, 6 sc in magic ring. (6)
Rd 2: sc in each sc around. (6)
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (9)
Rds 4-5: sc in each sc around. (9)
Rd 6: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (12)
Rds 7-10: sc in each sc around. (12)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Stuff HORN firmly. Sew HORN to HEAD.
EARS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With white, 6 sc in magic ring. (6)
Rd 2: 2 sc in next 2 sc, (sc, hdc) in next sc, (hdc, sc) in next sc, 2 sc in next 2 sc. (12)
Rd 3: sc in next 5 sc, (sc, hdc) in next sc, (hdc, sc) in next sc, sc in next 5 sc. (14)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Sew EARS to HEAD.
BODY:
Rd 1: With white, 6 sc in magic ring. (6)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12)
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (18)
Rd 4: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (24)
Rd 5: (sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (30)
Rd 6: (sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (36)

ARMS AND LEGS (MAKE 4):
Rd 1: With gold, 6 sc in magic ring. (6)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12)
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (18)
Rd 4: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (24)
Rds 5-8: sc in each sc around. (24)
Rd 9: (sc in next 2 sc, sc2tog) around. (18)
Rd 10: sc in each sc around. (18) Change to white.
Rds 11-20: sc in each sc around. (18)
Rd 21: (sc in next sc, sc2tog) around. (12)
STUFF ARMS FIRMLY.
Rd 22: sc2tog around. (6)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Weave tail through sc of Rd 22, pull tightly and secure. Sew ARMS to BODY.
MAIN:
Using red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple, fringe on pieces of yarn on back of head and down neck of UNICORN.
TAIL:
Using red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple, fringe of pieces on yarn on BODY of UNICORN.
