HARRY POTTER BABY SET
This is a pattern for a diaper cover, hat and scarf set inspired by the Harry Potter movie. This set was made in the Gryffindor's colors. It can be made in any one of the four houses of Hogwarts.
MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn: Burgundy and gold
H crochet hook
Tapestry needle
¾ inch gold button
DIAPER. OVER:
Rw 1: With burgundy, ch 45, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across. (44)
Rw 2: Ch 2, turn; dc in each sc across. (44)
Rw 3: Ch 1, turn; sc in each dc across. (44)
Rw 4: Turn, slip St in next 10 sc, ch 2, dc in next 24 sc leaving remaining sc unworked. (24)
Rw 5: Ch 2, turn; dc in each dc across. (24)
Rw 6: Ch 2, turn; dc2tog, dc in next 20 dc, dc2tog. (22)
Rw 7: Ch 2, turn; dc2tog, dc in next 18 dc, dc2tog. (20)
Rw 8: Ch 2, turn; dc2tog, dc in next 16 dc, dc2tog. (18)
Rw 9: Ch 2, turn; dc2tog, dc in next 14 dc, dc2tog. (16)
Rw 10: Ch 2, turn; dc2tog, dc in next 12 dc, dc2tog. (14)
Rw 11: Ch 2, turn; dc2tog, dc in next 10 dc, dc2tog. (12)
Rws 12-19: Ch 2, turn; dc in each dc across. (12)
Finish off.
DIAPER COVER EDGING:
Rd 1: Attach gold at any point along size between Rw 10 and Rw 14, ch 1, sc evenly along edge of DIAPER COVER with 3 sc in each corner of DIAPER COVER. Finish off and weave in ends.
BUTTON:
Fold DIAPER COVER into desired position. Working through Rw 18 of the front and Rw 2 of both side straps without catching any of the dc of the side straps, sew button to DIAPER COVER.
SCARF:
Rw 1: With burgundy, ch 11, dc in third ch from hook and in each ch across. (9)
Rws 2-4: Ch 2, turn; dc in each dc across. (9) Change to gold.
Rws 5-8: Ch 2, turn; dc in each dc across. (9) Change to burgundy.
Rws 9-12: Ch 2, turn; dc in each dc across. (9) Change to gold.
Rws 13-16: Ch 2, turn; dc in each dc across. (9) Change to burgundy.
Rws 17-20: Ch 2, turn; dc in each dc across. (9) Change to gold.
Rws 21-24: Ch 2, turn; dc in each dc across. (9) Change to burgundy.
Rws 25-28: Ch 2, turn; dc in each dc across. (9) Change to gold.
Rws 29-32: Ch 2, turn; dc in each dc across. (9) Change to burgundy.
Rws 33-36: Ch 2, turn; dc in each dc across. (9) Change to gold.
Rws 37-40: Ch 2, turn; dc in each dc across. (9) Change to burgundy.
Rws 41-44: Ch 2, turn; dc in each dc across. (9) Change to gold.
Rws 45-48: Ch 2, turn; dc in each dc across. (9) Change to burgundy.
Rws 49-52: Ch 2, turn; dc in each dc across. (9)
Finish off. Weave in ends.
TASSLES (MAKE 10):
Cut 40 4 inch pieces of gold yarn. Fringe 4 pieces of gold yarn in five places on each end of scarf.
HAT:
Rd 1: With burgundy, 10 dc in magic ring, slip st in first dc. (10)
Rd 2: Ch 2, 2 dc in each dc around, slip st in first dc changing to gold. (20)
Rd 3: Ch 2, (dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc) around, slip st in first dc. (30)
Rd 4: Ch 2, (dc in next 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc) around, slip st in first dc changing to burgundy. (40)
Rd 5: Ch 2, dc in each dc around, slip st in first dc. (40)
Rd 6: Ch 2, dc in each dc around, slip st in first dc changing to gold. (40)
Rd 7: Ch 2, dc in each dc around, slip st in first dc. (40)
Rd 8: Ch 2, dc in each dc around, slip st in first dc changing to burgundy. (40)
Rds 9-10: Ch 2, dc in each dc around, slip st in first dc. (40)
Finish off. Weave in ends.
POM-POM ON HAT:
Using burgundy and gold yarn, create a pom-pom for the top of the hat.
