LITTLE MULAN

This is rendering of the famed Mulan character from Disney’s Mulan.  It is the continuing series of dolls depicting each of the Disney Princesses and Tinkerbell.

MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn:  Buff, black, real teal, blue, claret, honey dew, and pale yellow
Embroidery floss:  White, black, red, and tan
D crochet hook
Polyester fiberfill
Tapestry needle

DOLL:
Make Little Farrah doll with black hair and eyebrows.

DRESS:
BODICE:
Rw 1: With claret, ch 16, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across.  (15)  Change to blue.
Rw 2: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (15)  Change to honey dew.
Rw 3: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc, change to real teal, sc in same sc as last sc, change to pale yellow, 2 sc in next sc, change to real teal, sc in next sc, change to honey dew, sc in same sc as last sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 5 sc.  (20)
Rw 4: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 8 sc, change to real teal, sc in next sc, change to pale yellow, sc in next 2 sc, change to real teal, sc in next sc, change to honey dew, sc in next 8 sc.  (20)
LEFT SIDE OF BODICE
Rw 5: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 3 sc, ch 3, skip next 2 sc, sc2tog, sc in next sc, change to real teal, sc in next sc.  (6, ch-3 space)
Rw 6: Ch 1, turn; sc2tog, change to honey dew, sc in next sc, sc in next 3 ch, sc in next 3 sc.  Finish off honey dew leaving a long tail to sew back seam closed.
Rw 7: With wrong side facing, draw up a real teal loop in the real teal sc of row 6, ch 1, (sc2tog, scin next sc) twice, sc2tog.  Finish off leaving a long tail to sew back seam closed.
RIGHT SIDE OF BODICE
Rw 5: Starting at real teal sc of Row 4, draw up  a real teal loop in real teal sc, sc in same sc, change to honey dew, sc in next sc, sc2tog,, ch 3, skip next 2 sc, sc in next 3 sc.
Rw 6:
Finish off leaving a long tail for sewing back seam closed.

SLEEVES:
Rw 1: Attach light blue in second skipped sc, ch1, sc in same sc as slip st, sc in side of Row 5, sc in next 3 chs, sc in side of Row 5, sc in skipped sc.  (12)
Rws 2-7: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (7)
Finish off leaving a long tail to sew sleeve closed.
Repeat in second armhole.

SKIRT:
Rd 1: Attach blue with slip st in first free loop of foundation ch of BODICE with wrong side facing, ch 1, sc in next 7 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 7 sc, join with slip st in first sc.  (16)
Rd 2: Ch 1, turn; (sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc) twice, sc in next 4 sc, join.  (18)
Rd 3: Ch 1, turn; (sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in nextsc) twie, sc in net 6 sc, join.  (20) Change t pale yellow.
Rds 4-9: Ch 3, dc in each sc around, join.  (20)
Rd 10: Ch 3, (dc in next 4 dc, 2 dc in next dc) around, join.  (24)
Finish off. Weave in ends.

ASSEMBLY:
Place DRESS on doll and sew back seam closed.

Use embroidery floss to embroider face on doll.
