BEST FRIEND CARE BEAR

This is the pattern for the Heart, Star and Rainbow on Best Friend Care Bear's belly.  The Body and Detail colors that I used Bst Friend Care Bear is also included.

BODY COLOR:  Red Heart Super Saver:        #358 Lavender

DETAIL COLOR:    DMC Floss                #550 Very Dark Violet (4 Skeins)
HEART:                 DMC Floss                #600 Very Dark Cranberry
                                                              #604 Light Cranberry
STAR:                    DMC Floss                #444 Dark Lemon
                                                              #741 Medium Tangerine
RAINBOW:            DMC Floss                #444 Dark Lemon
                                                              #518 Light Wedgewood
                                                              #600 Very Dark Cranberry
                                               
HEART (#604)
Make HEART same as FOOTPAD HEARTS.

EDGING OF HEART (#600)
Work edging same as FOOTPAD HEARTS.
STAR (#444)
Rd 1:    Ch 3, 5 sc in scond ch from hook working around ch.  (5)
Rd 2:    2 sc in each sc around.  (10)
Rd 3:    (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (15)
Points of star #1
Rw 4:    slip st in next sc, ch 1, sc in same sc as slip st, sc in next 2 sc.  (3)
Rw 5:    Ch 1, turn; sc in next sc, sc2tog.  (2)
Rw 6:    Ch 1, turn; sc2tog.  (1)
Finish off.
Points of star #2 through #5
Rw 4:    Attach yellow in next sc of Rd 3, ch 1, sc in next 3 sc.  (3)
Rws 5-6:    Repeat rows 5 and 6 of POINTS OF STAR #1.
Finish off.

EDGING OF STAR (#741)
Slip st in bottom of any POINT, ch 1, *pull up a loop in same st, pull up aloop in bottom of next POINT, YO, pull through all/loops on hook (counts as 1 st), sc aong side of POINT, 3 sc at point of POINT, sc down side of POINT*, epeat fom * to * for all POINTS.

FACES
Using #600 for HEART and #741 for STAR, embroider faces on.

RAINBOW
Rw 1:    Using #600, ch 20, sc in second ch from hook, sc in next 2 ch, (2 sc in next ch, sc in next 3 ch) 4 times.  (22)  Change to #444
Rw 2:    Ch 1, turn; (sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc) 4 times, sc in next 3 sc.  (26)  Change to #518
Rw 3:    Ch 1, turn; sc in next 4 sc, (2 sc in next sc, sc in next 5 sc) 4 times.  (30)
Finish off.
