SHOULDER BAG

I made the bag with black, lt. blue, and white sections for a co-worker of my wife named Anna.  I made the lt. blue and white bag with Barbara on it for the sister of my wife's co-worker, which the other bag was made for.

MATERIALS
Worsted weight yarn:  Color will vary depending on the color you want to make the bag.
G crochet hook
1 12" zipper
1 7" zipper
Sewing thread
Sewing and tapestry needle

ANNA'S BAG STRIP PATTERN
Black 10 rows, Lt. Blue 10 rows, White 40 rows, Lt. Blue 10 rows, & Black 10 rows.

BARBARA'S BAG STRIP PATTERN
Lt. Blue 20 rows, White 40 rows, & Lt. Blue 20 rows.

FRONT
Rw 1:    Ch 56, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across.  (54)
Rws 2-80:    Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (54)
Finish off.

BACK
Rw 1:    Working in free loops of foundation ch of FRONT, attach yarn with slip st, ch 1, sc in each ch across.  (54)
Rws 2-80:    Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (54)
Finish off.

SIDE 1 & TOP OF HANDLE
Rw 1:    Ch 3, sc in second ch from hook.  (1)
Rw 2:    Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc. (2)
Rw 3:    Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc.  (3)
Rw 4:    Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc.  (4)
Rw 5:    Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 3 sc.  (5)
Rw 6:    Ch 1, turn: 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 4 sc.  (6)
Rws 7-70        Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (6)
Rw 71:    Ch 1, turn; working in front loops only, sc in each sc across.  (6)
Rws 72-240:    Ch 1, turn; sc in next sc across.  (6)
Finish off ater Row 240.

BOTTOM OF HANDLE
Rw 71:    Working in free loops of Row 70, attach yarn, ch 1, sc in each ch across.  (6)
Rws 2-240:    Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (6)
Do not finish off.

SIDE 2
Rw 241:    Ch 1, turn; working through both thicknesses of TOP OF HANDLE and BOTTOM OF HANDLE, sc in each sc across.  (6)
Rw 242-305:    Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (6)
Rw 306:    Ch 1, turn; sc2tog, sc in next 4 sc.  (5)
Rw 307:    Ch 1, turn; sc2tog, sc in next 3 sc.  (4)
Rw 308:    Ch 1, turn; sc2tog, sc in next 2 sc.  (3)
Rw 309:    Ch 1, turn; sc2tog, sc in next sc.  (2)
Rw 310:    Ch 1, turn; sc2tog.  (1)
Do not finish off.  Working through all thicknesses, sc up SIDE and FRONT/BACK, sc along side of HANDLE, sc down SIDE and FRONT/BACK, sc up SIDE and FRONT/BACK, sc along side of HANDLE, sc down SIDE and FRONT/BACK.  Finish off.

POCKET
Rw 1:    Ch 26, sc in second ch from hook and in each sc across.  (24)
Rws 2-18:    Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (24)
Finish off.  Sew 7" zipper to top of POCKET.  Sew POCKET to inside of bag.

ROSES (MAKE 8) (OPTIONAL)
Follow pattern ROSES pattern.  Sew 4 to FRONT and 4 to BACK.

Sew 12" zipper to top of bag.
