My daughter asked me to design a series of crochet edibles. This is the next set of items in this series. This pattern is a variety of fruits. It includes—strawberry, apple, pear, closed banana, open banana, orange, lemon, lime, grapes, and pineapple. This pattern also includes a basket to carry them in. The basket can be made in any color. LITTLE FOX
My daughter saw “100 Little Knitted Projects” by Sarah Keen at the library. She fell in love with several of the patterns in the book. The problem with the patterns was they were knitted. I do not know how to knit. I pointed this out to my wife when she brought me the book. I am sure that most parents know that when a 5 year old looks at you with their eyes, you cannot say no to them. I had to come up with something. I used the picture in the book to design a crocheted version. Here is the pattern.

ROSEBUD
My wife recently said a knitted rosebud in a book. She asked if I could make her one. I, unfortunately, do not know how to knit. So, I had to design one that I could crochet. Here is the pattern that I came up with.
MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn: Red and hunter green
E crochet hooks
Tapestry needle
Glue
Chenille stem
ROSEBUD:
Rw 1: With red, ch 31, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across. (30)
Rws 2-5: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across. (30)
Finish off. Weave in ends. Add some glue and roll into a bud.
GREEN ROSEBUD BOTTOM:
Rd 1: With hunter green and in working in bottom of rolled ROSEBUD, attach hunter green with slip st, ch 1, evenly sc 8 times around bottom of ROSEBUD. (8)
Rd 2: (sc2tog) 4 times. (4)
Finish off leaving a long tail.
STEM:
Rw 1: With hunter green, ch 36, sc in second ch from hook and each ch across. (35)
Rws 2-4: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across. (35)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Using tail, sew seam closed. Insert chenille stem and sew bottom of STEM closed. Weave in end. Using tail on GREEN ROSEBUD BOTTOM, sew STEM to GREEBN ROSEBUD BOTTOM.
LEAVES (MAKE 2):
Rw 1: With hunter green, ch 2, 2 sc in second ch from hook. (2)
Rw 2: Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in each sc across. (4)
Rw 3: Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc. (6)
Rws 4-7: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across. (6)
Rw 8: Ch 1, turn; sc2tog, sc in next 2 sc, sc2tog. (4)
Rw 9: Ch 1, turn; (sc2tog) twice. (2)
Rw 10: Ch 1, turn; sc2tog. (1)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Sew LEAVES to STEM.
